New Polestar 2 sedan variants make public appearance with EU pricing

Polestar has given the first look of new editions of its Polestar 2 sedan to the public alongside EU pricing before starting deliveries this month. The expanded Polestar 2 comprising of three powertrain variations will be on display at the IAA Mobility auto show in Munich this week.

For those unfamiliar, Polestar is a Swedish automotive brand focused on EVs and was launched in 2017 as an "independent" brand co-owned by Geely Holding and Volvo Cars Group. It presently offers two electric vehicles: the PHEV Polestar 1 and the all-electric Polestar 2.

As a prospective third model, Polestar has approved its Precept concept EV for full-production and has been recording the entire process for consumers. The company recently made its carbon impact data public to build trust with its worldwide customer base.

Polestar intends to double its global retail and market presence by end of 2021. The company has elaborated on those goals at IAA Mobility, to expand to 30 global markets by 2022-end.

Along with announcing the ongoing expansion, Polestar has shared European pricing of its Polestar 2 sedan. These prices correspond with new extra powertrain variations that were disclosed early this year.

The newest models of the Polestar 2 will start at approximately USD 53,855.25 and will be delivered to customers in Europe later this month. Regardless of the new powertrains, the upcoming Polestar 2 EVs will feature vegan upholstery and Google built-in Android infotainment systems.

The Polestar 2 models have an addition of an optional heat pump to help increase battery range and maintain longevity. The heat pump is available within the new Plus Pack add-on, besides a premium Harman Kardon sound system, a full-length panoramic glass roof, and some other luxury features.

Along with the Plus Pack, the Swedish automotive company has shared two more features add-ons on the Polestar 2, namely, Pilot Pack that offer better safety and assistance alerts for driver awareness, together with LED headlights.

The formerly present Performance Pack will also be available for an additional price on the Polestar 2, offering Brembo brakes, 20-inch alloy wheels, and signature “Swedish gold” details.
