Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has reportedly signed an agreement with the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), to provide a one-year Advanced Diploma course in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) along with apprenticeship and placement assistance to students.
This move is part of the automaker’s contribution to the government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative for developing highly trained resources for the automotive industry.
Students will receive hands-on training on the latest automotive technology using innovative tools and equipment as part of the Automotive Mechatronics diploma program. They would also get a chance to visit the Mercedes- Benz's Pune plant as part of the training.
The course will train potential engineers in electrical and electronics technology embedded systems and advanced automobile systems engineering.
Shekhar Bhide, Vice President, Customer Services at Mercedes-Benz India, mentioned that the program imparts practical knowledge and helps in skill development, along with offering the best training and understanding of the latest technology that is consistent with worldwide industry standards.
The Delhi government-run university, through this collaboration, expects to offer a platform to students to realize their goals of working in the automotive industry while also assisting them in finding jobs.
Neharika Vohra, Vice-Chancellor at DSEU, stated they are thrilled to collaborate with such a prestigious and experienced firm. DSEU professors and students will profit immensely from this advanced course and get fresh insights into the discipline, she added.
This program is conducted in government institutions since 2006 in Noida, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Pune, New Delhi, Trivandrum, Ghaziabad, and now Bhubaneshwar. The company claims to have successfully placed 650+ students in the industry across various locations.
