Grevol partners with CATL as it rolls out new battery packs and EVs

New Delhi-based zero-emission automotive technology organization Green Evolve Private Ltd. (Grevol) has partnered with CATL-Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., a major player in lithium-ion battery development and manufacturing, for long-term cell acquirement.

CATL is known to supply auto-giants like BMW, Tesla, and Mercedes. Grevol will use CATL cells for their subsequent cargo 3-wheeler (L5N) vehicles.

Grevol has also announced the launch of its innovative lithium battery packs. The company is also ready to launch its electric cargo three-wheeler vehicles soon. The firm manufactures zero-emission, IoT-enabled vehicles, smart and innovative lithium-ion battery packs to cater to the needs of last-mile mobility.

Founder and CEO of Grevol, Jayant Gupta, mentioned that the use of high-quality cells can lower the charging time to less than 2 hours by offering a quick charging feature to achieve a 200 km range per day and a life of 200,000 Km or around 8 years.

Considering the trials and customer feedbacks, Grevol assumes that its upcoming L5N category vehicles can constantly deliver a better range with a higher payload capacity as compared to other EVs in the three-wheeler segment.

Sanjay Aggarwal, Grevol's CTO, stated that an EV is a battery pack on wheels, consisting 40-50 percent of the vehicle cost. The four components that collectively develop this standard lithium battery pack are an active thermal management system, cell sourcing, a powerful battery management system with cell balancing, and most importantly the design & packaging of the battery pack.

In this context, the company has addressed the restraints with regards to the adaptability of lithium-ion battery packs in the hotter climatic and tough road conditions existing in India, he added.

Co-founder and COO, Rakesh Gupta, mentioned that the foundation of an e-vehicle must be made on the existing vendor network of conventional vehicles, with verified performance standards, as well as wide aftermarket component availability.

With a team combining the right skill set and passion for developing sustainable last-mile mobility, Grevol has completed pilot trials successfully with Flipkart, Big Basket, E-comm Express, and others.
