South Korean automobile manufacturer- Kia Motors has recently unveiled images of the upcoming EV6 model, its first dedicated battery electric vehicle, ahead of its debut in the global market in March 2021. As per sources, EV6 boasts of the automobile giant’s design philosophy ‘Opposites United’.

The variant comes with a crossover-inspired design which is based on the company’s new E-GMP or Electric-Global Modular Platform and is Kia’s first fully BEV to be influenced by the design philosophy which focuses on a gradual shift towards electrification.

Along similar lines, the new Kia EV6 comes with an appealing road presence with generous proportions and has a wide track owing to the long wheelbase equipped with sporty short overhangs.

Up front, the car presents a bonnet that slopes downwards with muscular lines, LED headlights and boomerang-shaped Daytime Lights that are carefully integrated.

It is worth mentioning that, with its expanding range of battery-operated electric vehicles, Kia is targeting a 6.6% of the global BEV market share by 2025, along with annual sales of 5,00,000 battery-operated EV units through 2026. Additionally, the company aims at reinforcing its global product line-up with the launch of seven new BEV variants by 2027.

Citing reliable sources, future vehicles by the brand will utilize next-gen in-car user experience through the advancements in in-car connectivity, and lighting.

Reports indicate that the E-GMP is capable of recharging from 10% to 80% within 18 minutes and the flexible architecture offers AWD and RWD configurations. The variant can accommodate nearly 72.6 kWh battery pack and the range capabilities are up to 500 km with a single charge. However, the official specifications of the new EV6 will be announced during its launch.
