Fortinet invests $75 million in Linksys to support WFH employees

Fortinet, one of the global leaders in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions, has recently announced its plans of investing USD 75 million in a subsidiary of Foxconn Interconnect Technology, Linksys.

The investment follows the former company’s aim of establishing a strategic alliance with Linksys in an effort to provide various organizations fast, secure, reliable, and simple tactics to manage remote connectivity while working from home during the coronavirus pandemic phase.

It has been claimed that Fortinet, FIT, and Linksys would collectively offer enterprise-grade connectivity and security and unprecedented quality of services to firms that call in for seamless and secured connectivity for their employees to effectively work from home.

Moreover, as a part of the partnership, Fortinet is looking forward to offering next-generation and leading rooter connectivity solutions to global businesses and customers. Additionally, Fortinet is also in talks of appointing a representative to the Linksys Board of Directors.

Commenting on the partnership, Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Fortinet Board, Ken Xie, stated that the company is delighted to collaborate with Linksys to deliver enterprise-grade reliable, secure network connectivity for home-based workers.

Xie added that when organization deploy telework at scale, cyber criminals leap at the opportunity to exploit the security gaps that arise during the operation. In fact, security-driven networking enables organization to defend and witness the current scenario of highly dynamic environments while preserving an exceptional user experience.

Meanwhile, CEO and Chairman of FIT Hon Teng, Sidney Lu, mentioned that the company is pleased to welcome onboard the team of Fortinet as a strategic partner in offering secured connectivity for remote professionals and consumers.

In addition, the alliance stands to be a validation of the ongoing strength and reach of the Linksys business. Sidney added that the firm seeks to leverage Fortinet’s proven cybersecurity know-how to capitalize on new opportunities.
