Cote d’Or on top

The football season has reached the end of its first round with Praslin-based Cote d’Or taking first place after their hard fought 1-0 win over fierce rivals St Michel on Wednesday. A penalty in the dying minutes gave them all three points.
The Seychelles Football Federation is satisfied with this first round as it has been a balanced contest.
At the same time the SFF has some projects that it is working on and that could materialize soon.
An example is beach football and this week more than 25 local coaches and officials are following a five-day course conducted by the FIFA instructors.
The course includes class work and practical on the Beau Vallon Beach.
The aim is to start a beach soccer league by next month and use it also to develop sports tourism.
The federation also expects toward the end of the year to start building facilities for in-door football or futsal.
