Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has deplored the fact that an opposition politician has claimed that the recent seizure of 110 kg of heroin aboard a leisure boat was faked.

Addressing a social meeting at Melrose, Jugnauth , who was apparently referring to MMM leader Paul Berenger said this was a serious matter and not a “ mise en scene”. He added that he had not turned into a film producer.
According to the “ mise en scene”, claimed to be the case by Berenger, the police had placed the drug consignment on board a boat on which there were three persons, told them to go out to sea and got the helicopter to film that.
The motor boat was intercepted near “ Coin de Mire”, in the north of the island in October and its three occupants arrested.
